Portuguese designer Rui Alves drew inspiration for The Tailor Sofa from his grandfather’s favorite tailor shop. The image of tailors working diligently over tables and old wooden hangers holding gray suits left a lasting impression on Rui. In homage to that memory, he designed the Tailor Sofa to be authentic, with every detail on display: “I wanted to show all of it, the structure, the beautiful oak wood. Nothing should be hidden, as is normally done in sofa design. The sofa is meant to be seen from all sides.”
